When it comes to designing products, people’s desire to be creative or to make an innovative product leads to a lot of overly complicated designs.  However, the really effective products tend to be pretty simple.  Check out this design for a clock that you tip one way or another depending on daylight savings:

You could also adapt this design for showing different time zones, just roll the clock over rather than doing the math.  See more at Yanko Design.
