Many people would agree that Pinkberry is responsible for catalyzing the organic frozen yogurt trend that has swept California (can anyone say Fraiche, Red Mango, Culture, Yogurt Stop, etc?!) and other parts of the country. I think Pinkberry owes much of its success not only to its deliciously tart product, but also to its ingenious marketing, packaging, and branding. In this fascinating video, Yolanda Santosa speaks about developing the Pinkberry brand and motto: Swirly Goodness. Here’s a lesson in creative marketing that is very applicable to the themes we’re discussing in class. It’s interesting to hear about Pinkberry’s evolution from a single store to a national chain that has legions of adoring fans. Check it out! P.S. I’m hungry now! Too bad there’s not a Pinkberry in Palo Alto…

As one of the members of Team Innnov8, which is profiling Fraiche for our final presentation, I just want to point out that Fraiche is not trying to emulate Pinkberry (or Red Mango, etc.) in anyway. The creators of Fraiche feel they have a very different product than these other frozen yogurt companies in terms of both ingredients and store atmosphere.
We look forward to showing you how Fraiche is innovative in a few weeks!
