Karma Kitchen May 16, 2009

Posted by lmohan in Uncategorized.

Imagine going to a restaurant where a person who came before you has already paid for the food you will have. You can then chose to gift a meal to the next person. This is the idea of taking gift economy to the next level by paying it forward. I have been looking for creative ideas in the non-profit sector since 277 started and I found Karma Kitchen very inspiring. It is a completely volunteer run restaurant that provides food for everyone who walks through its doors, whether they can pay or not. I believe such ideas that appeal to the inherent goodwill in us are what will sustain the spirit of giving.
