The Segway has evolved from a classic control engineering problem to a cool way for mall cops to patrol more effectively.

Here is a video of a project where students have successfully implemented a control design that balances an inverted pendulum:

also helpful for the mildly handicapped- rather than crutches! although some people have complained that people assume they’re joyriding when they’re actually using the device as an aid. It’s all about how the product is perceived.

Man, so many childish reviewers.

But I do love the motorcycle. I’d love to have one if it could reach highway legal speeds.
